“Grand Glam: the Artistry of Carnival in Fashion”

New Orleans Fashion Week  contacted me about the runway show at the Presbytére “Grand Glam: the Artistry of Carnival in Fashion”. They have asked local designers to include costumes. It is in conjunction with the Exhibit “Grand Illusions: The History and Artistry of Gay Carnival in New Orleans” already on display through December 2020.

Attendees will get an after-hours view of the Exhibit. Tickets are $20/person and $15 for Friends of the Cabildo and Louisiana Museum Foundation Members. Cash Bar available. All proceeds will benefit the museum.

2019 New Orleans Fashion Week Runway Show “Grand Glam: Celebrating The Artistry of Carnival” produced by The Louisiana State Museum- Presbytere, Friends of the Cabildo, & New Orleans Fashion Week.

The Runway Show helped promote the current Exhibit “Grand Illusions: The History and Artistry of Gay Carnival in New Orleans” Curated by Wayne Phillips, at The Louisiana State Museum- Presbytere in Jackson Square.
*The Exhibition Reopened Saturday, May 16th and will be displayed through December 2020

In the Background is John’s Captain L – Anubis Costume and Designs from the Krewe of Amon-Ra’s 50th Anniversary Ball (2015) “The Weighing of the Heart (Final Judgement)”.
